      Just to note...

If you have a S10 version you press 8888 instead of 777777 to get the chip info

can anyone confirm its not a clone - the list on the first page say if you have a 00EA - you are ok!

Yes you can use ftp to update cccam config
Default network setting DHCP is set to off so when you have finished software update, you will need to set your nework up, so again enter the Menu -> Network Local Setting and set DHCP to ON

Just to clear up a little bit of a mix up that I have only just found out about. When i did the 77777 on my openbox it came up as 2020. However when I did a 8888 it showed Chip ID: 00ea. Dont get these two comfused as I first did.

Waht to do if it's a pirated copy

I updated My Openbox S10 HD PVR with the latest Asian Firmware (11-05-19). Then I tried to use 888888 (-did'nt work) but when I used 777777 (Which is supposed to be used on the S9 model) the chip info came up wit cccc-5B49, which obviously shows it's a non original chip inside. But when I tried the same operation again it came up with cccc-5B00. Very confusing.

Does anyone know if this means that I can't upgrade my firmware on my NEW box bought in Thailand? Very irritation if so, since I sems to have an old interface with alla icons to the left in a vertical layout. Also have the problem with rebooting when trying to watch recorded programs.

In the thred "How t identify if your Openbox i original" he wrote down the following Chip codes for the original ones:
                              00D0, 00EA, 085B, 0D0C, 98A1, 98F2, 9CF4, 9D1A,
Unfortunately for you and me it means we bought copied ones. DO NOT INSTALL THE ORIGINAL FIRMWARE, since you will lose the HD function after 10 reboots.
I am looking for a working Firmware. Will post something in tyhe forum when I find a solution.

I got these codes from manufacturers of "original" openbox (the one who send new firmware frequently) but it doesn't necessarily means the your boxes are not original (only not from this firmware manufacturer) and be careful to upgrade and if "Your Box is CLONE version!!!" massage warning appear before rebooting 10 times so quickly degrade to previous software (if you have remembered to save it) by Dump by usb
