To identify if your openbox is original or clone

hi just got a s10 iv checked other forums for clone or not, and u do not have to dump and install. you just go.....tools /info /8888.....and chip dispays.

Correct If you have a firmware later than 07/04/2011 you don't need update firmware but if you have a box with older firmware than 07/04/2011 so you get the wrong ID

I have also 2 clones with original firm 05-05-11 and a chanellist from a S9 . Every time reboot or locked . Satelite scan doesn't work after 7% or sometimes 12 % it stops. Is something wrong with the chanellist S9 that it not work in S10

Witch satellite you are trying to scan? You can upgrade channel list by flash disk ( safe for clone boxes)

Just upgrade with this firmware and if "Your Box is CLONE version!!!" massage warning appear before rebooting 10 times so quickly degrade to previous software (if you have remembered to save it) by Dump by usb

my supplier assured me my boxes were originals , however chip id is 1015 (post one dont list 1015 so one would assume clone), after googling about it seems the list in post one is not up-to-date , and the list of numbers grows increasingly , here is a recent list i got

I am new to this forum and I tried the 8888 and my chip id was 1015 so it looks like i have a original box is that true.

Tested and i am 100%. CHIP ID 0D7E, is a legitimate chip id of a 100% ORIGINAL S10 OPENBOX

This information is outdated now as some boxes (S10) will still show a valid code even though they are clones (I know because it has happened to me

)

The only true way to check if you have a clone or not is to install the 08-08-11 firmware then do the above check, in my case all other firmwares reported 00D0 (ie Non clone) but the August updates show me FFFF and if i try all the 8's again it then changes to 00D0, it appears that the Clone box is trying to FAKE the CCID but the new August firmwares can detect this.

My box is being exchanged tomorrow as my supplier was also caught out by this and now has new stock that are genuine.

if you have an Ali3602 HD Receiver like S9,S10...there has a method to identify if it is original (quality goods) or clone.

Before identify , please backup your old software on the box by usb. Download SKYBOX_S9S10_110815.rar upgrade it by usb.
enter menu---tool---information---press "8888" key, now you will see CHIP ID , If the box CHIP ID is in the chip_id_list, congratulatation, your HD Receiver is original version! You can upgrade any new firmware to experience more new functions. Otherwise, You Box is clone version , please recover the software with the old version! This software will kill the clone box when power on over 10 times. If less than 10 times, no kill for clone verion.
the chip_id_list is the following, it will update everyday: (updated date :08/15/2011)

When you buy a new box , try to view the chip_id_list on this http page. If you can not find the valid "CHIP ID" on the chip_id_list, it means your box is a clone box.
