I have just bought a S10, version CHDS2 11-05-04:0077CMT, however I only get the ID after pressing 777777 and not 888888. Why is this? I get EFb7:1500.

      Thanks

Thanks now I can load new firmware with piece of mind.

My ID is 1015. I read somewhere that if the cam pcb was gold its the real deal, but fake if it's green. Mine is green.
        Is this bs ?

          Openbox S10 Chip ID update

How to identify clone Ali3602 HD Receiver
          all consumers :
if you have an Ali3602 HD Receiver like S9,S10...there has a method to identify if it is original (quality goods) or clone.
enter menu---tool---information---press "8888" key, now you will see CHIP ID , If the box CHIP ID is in the chip_id_list, congratulatation, your HD Receiver is original version! You can upgrade any new firmware to experience more new functions. Otherwise, You Box is clone version , please recover the software with the old version! This software will kill the clone box when power on over 10 times. If less than 10 times, no kill for clone verion.
the chip_id_list is the following, it will update everyday: (updated date :08/15/2011)
          00D0
          00EA
          085B
          0D0C
          98A1
          98F2
          9CF4
          9D1A
          1015
          0D7E
          38EC

When you buy a new box , try to view the chip_id_list on this http page. If you can not find the valid "CHIP ID" on the chip_id_list, it means your box is a clone box.

Well, it fixed the sound crackling noise for me. And I wasn't able to receive FTA channels, but now all of them work.

I have checked my box and it says the following after a 8888 check

                      version c2hs2-11-07-14-0651CM
                      chip ID 0D73

can anyone confirm its not a clone
