8Mb is the theoretical maximum you can receive over a standard telephone line in Ireland.
It rolls off as you go further away from the exchange.
Unless you are within 1km of the exchange you wont get 8Mb,no matter what providor you have ,unless you create new electromagnetic laws .

Perlico are owned by Vodafone now

Not in Ireland it aint, its rubbish unless you are right beside a transmitter.
The ping on them is very high ,so no good for a dreambox if you want to cs.

upc are best for speed but eircom is all right but depends on how much you want too spend per month check on line and there prices and packages

All the dsl providers (Vodafone, Eircom etc) are the same so it won't make any difference which one of them you choose as they use the same line. Mobile broadband is absolute cack and useless for the Dreambox as the ping is way too high.

A friend of mine has perlico and uses it with his Dm 800, never gives him any trouble.

If you can get UPC go for it. Best provider in Ireland by a county mile IMO. I miss my UPC 20Mb connection since I moved from Galway city.
