VLC unable to open input file

Hi,

Have checked other posts on forum and this seems easy.

Trying to watch DB on netbook

I type ip add in browser
Dream control opens
I select channel
Offers me VLC as default
I select
VLC shows unable to open file

When I click Web TV VLC says no plugin is available to view this content.....HELP ?

Vlc is latest version
