Basically I'm working away from home at present and this week decided to take my old dreambox with me and tenda wireless dongle, basically at present I connect to the web via my iPhone tethering and the tenda is able to connect to my phone and share my web connection, the problem I have is I forgot the remote at home and I'm trying to login to the web panel to control the box. Usually you need the IP address and this is where it gets hard, the box is currently on a free view channel so it's not attempting to connect to the web to my server. Since it's not connecting I can't tell what it's IP address is, the tenda router does not see it wanting to connect and has not assigned it any IP address, I'm trying to think of a way it can obtain its IP, I have run a port scan on my wireless network and it does not see anything, I have a feeling it may be possibly due to the tenda acting like an access point and so either my phone or the network is assigning it an IP address, any ideas guys on how I can change the channel or how I can obtain the IP, I was considering putting the box straight into my laptop via Ethernet and setting my laptop up as a dhcp server but then again it depends if it wants to communicate to the outside world.
