got the above mentioned box but i connected it via usb->serial and activated DreamUp, i am unable to use the program to detect the box. com port is able to be detected and working fine. any idea?? i connect to my PC and macbox still same problem

Check if yr set has an ethernet port on the back. If it doesn't, i don't think yr set is the same as dm500c that is able to do flashing via dreamup.
