What does libbluray plugin do (bluray playback?)

Hi upgraded to Nemesis 2.3 (SSL84) and noted that it now has libbluray just wondered how this works on e2 images, have read a little bit and have heard mentioned VLC player, can anyone shed anymore light as to how this would work.
Playback of a bluray disc i would of thought the bit rate would be far too high for the DM500HD to handle.
