Hi Guys
a newbie here, just moved to Barbados from the Uk(had Sky HD there, just turned on and away you go) staying with mother in-law for the mo, she has a Dreambox 600PVR-S (no hard drive installed yet) which she brought from the UK on the web from an official UK dealer so i don't think its a clone.
the software version is jade3 2009-06-27, x-line Pli (rebuilt by SayyID)
My problem is that 10% of the time the box works fine, ie i pick a channel the picture and sound play perfectly. 90% of the time i either get a frozen picture or no picture/sound at all when i cycle through the channels, so most of the time i don't bother using it and just leave it switched off
Do you think i have a faulty box ?
i have done a bit of googling but haven't found a definitive basic guide which breaks down everything about the dreambox.

what all the info means on the Pli software when channel hopping ie 82% 92% a varying number, 12399 V, AUTO 19993, I B S V N(sometimes changes from red to green) CW ND CO
i haven't got a null modem cable would a cisco roll over cable do.
I don't mind getting my hands dirty and doing a bit of reading, so if there's a basic starting guide to get me going so that i could better understand the Dreambox that would really help me out.
