just got myself a dm500 clone scaned the channels in but missing one or two i know this as i have a tm5400 and can get these channels i have tried to manuall install but no joy could some one explain please?

It is said that some clones have rather deaf tuners. Perhaps you could try using one of the channel databases available here that has the correct settings for the channels that are missing and see if you get anything on them rather than relying on a scan. Depending on what image you are using, you may be able to see the BER (Block Error Rate) and/or signal level.
