just got dreambox 8000 well happy

dont think its a license prob with the blue ray its more sorting out the drivers for it and the blue ray drives are not cheap at the min , there is also still some bugs to be fixed before they go down the road of the blue ray but it will make this beast the best of them all me thinks when they do add the support

There are certainly enough people hoping so. I believe the problem lies with the propriety software, and the lack of 1080p out.

1080p out is no problem, it's working quite fine.
The problem is the copy protection.

Hi Fatbloke and all,

I have just installed a Samsung 1Tb HD103UJ hard drive in my new Dreambox 8000. Strange thing is I am unable to record anything to it but I can mount it, backup settings to it and FTP files to it via DCC 295.

First of all, the disk is recognised, but when I try and initialize I get the following error :-

"Unable to initialize hard disk
Error: Mkfs failed"

When I try to check the filesystem, the following error appears:-

"Unable to complete filesystem check
Error: Fsck failed"

And lastly, when I try and record :-

"No HDD found or HDD not initialized."

Any ideas what the problem can be?

By the way, I'm using the Nabilosat Blackhole v0.9 image.

Finally, I also tried the Gemini 4.0 image and it also wasn't able to record anything to it.

May be the drive is knackered?

Also will it play the hd h.264 format? Off the hdd?

Dreambox 8000 DVD problem

Hi,

I've just installed a new DVD drive into my Deambox 8000. I have problems with the drive reading anything. It actually accepts the discs and then just spits them out. No matter the orientation of the DVD disk it does the same thing. It obviously has power as it pulls the DVD into the body. I'm using the Nabilosat Black Hole v10 image.

Any ideas?

i dont have a dm8000
just a wild guess is there not a plugin via the addons manager todo with the dvd drive

best thing to do is to install the dreambox original image, then let the dreambox install the dvd & hdd

Yes you need them both the tiny white one is for your slimline DVD player and the pc type plugs into the motherboard of the dreambox.
