HELP NEEDED

help needed...........

ive just got myself a dm800hd and im having massive problems, here is the breakdown.

-got the box home and it was working fine for a few days but didnt have the epg sorted out so i tried to load that on and got it working about 80% it would show up on the channel list but not the transparent 7day list i wanted so had a bit more of a play around with it with no joy so sacked it off in the end and thought just buy a tv guide its easier

moving on

-watching tv about 7days in and all is still fine until i wanted to record something and was just checking the record path in setting and boom green screened on me and would not boot back up so, so jumped on the net and had a look around and it seemed to have lost the image somehow??

went on sunray sunshine and downloaded an image now what has happen is that at first the box said it was sim201 #84 now the screen is showing sim201#73c seem to have jumped back ??

managed to get the original image it came with but it will not let me flash via the web, dream up will not connect and flashFXP is the same

but with me trying so many things i am now up against a brick wall because the box wont even bootup !!! little screen on the front showing nothing and just about ready to use the dam thing a target practice arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

any help is much needed

You getting no error messages on the front screen what so ever?

you may have to try and do it through a serial connection

no not getting anything at all on the screen it just very briefly flashes but then nothing

try and flash with a serial connection (null modem cable) it will take about 75 minutes to complete.

update your bootloader to #84 first then flash with the image

as you can tell im new to all this hence the balls up haha how do i update the bootloader and where do i get it from?? and also where can i buy the lead from ??

the lead you can get from maplins for about a tenner. i think thats how much i paid.

Download dreamup and look at this thread

thanks for your help guys i will try and get hold of a null modem lead today and try it when i get home from work and i will come back with an update.

also i noticed that the bootloader was for a 800hd se mine i a 800hd pvr pro is there a difference in the compatibility ??

How did you get on mate? did the above sort it? or are you still having issues?

yeah get a patched copy of dreamup and flash bootloader simple process there should be instructions with the patched dream up

yes you need to get a patched dreamup to work on clones, and they are 2 different bootloaders,the 800 hd pro and 800hd se, you have to use the correct image which will have the correct bootloader for your box, there is also a method where you start to use dreamup till you get a ip address then use the web browser its much quicker
