    800hd cable dreambox swap tuner for DVB-S2 Tuner module ?

    Hi ive been offered a cheap 800hd only problem its a cable receiver can i easily swap the tuner for DVB-S2 Tuner module
    is it aeasy process.

    Yes. I think only the very old clones had the tuner soldered in, most now easy to remove from slot. A new sat tuner will cost you ?40-80.

      Better off buying a clone probably, Sat ready then

        Hi Yes i was thinking that way but ?70 + ?40 sat tuner vs ?200 for a 800hd clone ,but i think your right saves a lot of work i'd prob need a new backplate aswell.
        I think they'll be alot of these around though seen as cable has gone nagra 3 in most areas. I currently have a 500s superb receiver but the epg is crap and it seems to forget where my dish is pointing.
