I think I have a problem I am pressing the IP button on the remote and nothing is happening I have downloaded the new patch and a new channel list what am I doing wrong?

what are you trying to do?have you a lan /ethernet cable connected in your stb to your router?Have you your ip settings in the main menu on?when watching a channel type 8281 is the secret menu coming up?And then what do you want to do?

Have you got a lan/ethernetcable connected to your tm and then the router and in the main menu , are your ip settings on and the ip adress and gateway ect. coming up?
If the above is yes then while watching a channel type the 8281 this should bring you in the server connecting menu also called secret menu by a lot of people .

So you installed the patch file, did yo install the addon file as well, there should be two files (excluding channel list) that you load to the box,

yes all the cables are conected, when I go into menu/system settings/ip settings I can see my IP settings? it was working ok last week but I had a problem with the remote so was told by TM to try the downloading the new patch but that did nothing so they sent me a new remote out that I received today so I reloaded patch 109 put the 03 patch on top scanned 28E but when I press the IP button nothing happens also when I put 8281 in nithing happens?

with 03 you mean the addon?did you do a factory reset at any stage.
The advised way to put on patch is
1.backup channel list
2.factory reset
3.load original tm firmware
4.factory reset
5.load p.patch
6.factory reset
7.if you like you can load addon again(but this should stay on tm)
8.load channellist and rescan all sats in use
while watching a channel type "8281" should always work when you have a patch loaded+latest addon
if this does not work maybe you have a corrupted file/ patch
and try downloading the patch from Download center again

I am loading the original patch using serial is there no quicker way?

by usb is much easier and faster have you got an usb connected harddrive you can use that too .I always have all the patches on my harddrive so i can play around with the patches for the softcams.
Transfer files from computer to the usb device .
Goto main menu>usb menu>data transfer>upload channels> goto through the list and ok on the file you want load to your tm
