technomate 500 super linux

Hi im fed up with cable and want to try Satellite.
Been told these are great boxes (technomate 500 super linux)
but still a bit scepticle on havin one.
What pros and cons are there to it ?

You will need to read up on linux, and also need a share from someone.
None of this can be discuseed on here as illegal.
TM500 is no good as server.
