advice needed

i was just about to purchase a techomate 5300d+ , for a fixed dish with mono, is it now worth buying as i,m not sure what is now available?

There are not many packages open on satellite at the moment, they've all moved to better encryptions that aren't hacked. If you want to get a receiver, best get a dreambox or a receiver that's capable of cardsharing.

Give the Technomate a miss, has been an outstanding receiver but it's days are now over as most providers have moved to nagravision 3 encryption. As stated get a linux based receiver.

the technomates are coming to a end for the moment... i might even dig into my own bank soon for a CS capable receiver.... your best bet is dreambox or innovative!!
