Tring with TM 6900

Hi there, I'm having problems getting set up...and need a little help!
I have a TM 6900 and have recently bought a Tring card for the footy...I've put the card in using the slot, am set up with Eutelsat 16.0E and have manually inputted 11283 V 27500 and then pressed 'scan' but no channels have been saved.

I'm a complete newbie, so please feel free to tell me if I'm doing something very basic very wrongly...!

Try doing a complete scan on that sat with network search on

Cheers, just tried but still the same - it scans but finishes blank still.
On the satellite setup screen I have:
Sat 16.0E Eutelsat w2
Trans (13) 11.283(v)27.500
Lbn power on
Lbn type universal
Lbn freq 9.750/10.600
22khz auto
Diseqc 1.0 off
Diseqc 1.2 off

Does anything obvious jump out from this?

HI FILBERT,when you did a scan did you press the yellow button to save the satelite,what you,ve wrote above is correct,try going on lyngsat for frequencies and manulay put them in.

Try deleting dead TP's and unwanted tv channels as the list maybe full.

Do you get any channels on 16E ie the FTA channels on 11.475 V 29950 or 10.834 V 27500 ?
If manic01s advice doesnt work I"d check your dish alignment as it will finish blank after a scan if not on the sat correctly and 16E does need accuracy in the alignment.

Hi, thanks very much for your posts. I'm still having the mother of all nightmares, though. Not exactly the plug-n-play scenario that I was hoping for.
I do get some channels on the Eutelsat 16.0 but the TP codes seem not to stick when I'm scanning.
I think I might do factory reset and then try from scratch...

Thanks for the advice - I did try and delete tp's, but it didn't seem to solve the problem.
Stupid newbie question time...I"m now getting more channels on Eutelsat 16.0E, but only on TP 11.900h and 12.577h...but why isn't the 11.283 TP scanning in? I'm getting 93% level before I scan, I then press save, then scan...

In the 'scan' screen (with the TV/RADIO box), the TP numbers in the top left box don't show 11.283, they skip straight past it during the scan, so it seems like it's not been saved... A aargh!

the 2 TPs you quote are not on 16E it looks like you are pointing at the wrong sat do a complete dish alignment as I outlined above and have another try,exactly what channels are you getting?then we can tell where you are.

Just sussed what sat you are on Its Hotbird at 13E. 16E is a touch to the left and a touch down with a fraction more skew.as said if you set up as per the guide I sent all should be well,let us know how you get on and dont worry we all struggled to start with but the TM non linux boxes are the easiest ones to set up.(the reason it skips past 11.283 and wont scan it is because that TP is not active on 13E)

Many thanks for your time - really appreciated. I looked at the guide, but it's for a fixed dish and mine is motorised...the fine tune function looks a bit hit and miss (if you don't know what you're doing!) but I'll have a tweak and see what happens...

But still not 11.283....Does this help at all???!

the TPS you posted still looks like your on 13E or maybe 19E as asked let us know what channels turn up.

yeah my fault I assumed you were on a fixed dish try the USALS section of this guide. as an addition to the guide in the"STB setup"paragraph you can use 16E to set up on if you wish just make sure that in the "motorised settings"menu you substitute the Thor settings with the 16E ones 16E eutelsat W2 on the satellite line and scroll to 11.283 V 27500 on the Transponder line.Vizion plus is a FTA channel on that TP.then go to the 3rd line and carry on as per the guide.

Hi - thanks a lot for this...I think I may have found my problem.
On the STB set up - When I have line 1 as 16.0E Eutelsat W2, but on the second line I can't scroll to 11.283 - I can have 11.240 and then it skips to 11.300something.
I've gone to advanced and entered 11.283 manually and saved it, but when I then exit and go to back to do a main scan, it just skips past - 11.283 isn't on there.

Just done a scan and I've got a shedload of TP's (about 25) and on FTA I can get 11.597v/22.000 Best of Shopping and 12.051v/27.500 Kabel 1Austria (although the picture is a biy jerky)
User error, or system a bit shagged??!
