Hi, Have just bought a Technomate TM-5200 box but for some reason I can only use the remote to change the chanals up and down, the buttons on the front of the box have stopped working any ideas what I have done to cause this proble?, thanks RS

Try a factory reset.
There are 2 types of remote so maybe you need to change remote type.
To do this-Menu-System Settings-Password settings-Enter Pin 0000-bottom of list Remote controller-Select your type-Exit and save
This does not explain why stb buttons wont work though.

Sorry maybe I didn't explain myself correctly, the remote works fine, I know your asking why would I ned to use the front buttns if I have a remote, but sometimes it's easier to go up and down the channels with the buttons, also I can switch the box on with the top button but once the box is on all the 3 button don't work.

No idea then, try factory reset.
Cant understand why anyone would want to physically get up and change channels using the stb buttons when they have a remote in their hands?

I"v got a TM5400 and up til now have never used the buttons on the front, so I gave it a try and my buttons dont work properly either the on/off and channel down work but channel up doesnt probably something to do with patching but as said if the handset works it doesnt really matter as on these boxes you need the handset for every other function.

Hi. Its not the patch because my TM5400 SUPER PLUS works ok. All 3 buttons working fine. Very strange why yours dont work. Try pressing the buttons a bit harder. Regards.

your spot on mate its not the patch I gave it another try, pressing harder didnt work but repeatedly pressing and releasing got it working.Its obviously because its never used and just a dirty contact.
