    TM5402HD bonkers channel info

    Hi Folks

I hope someone here can help me. After many years away from Sat world, I've got myself a TM5402HD and it's a great unit.

Problem is, all my channel info is just......wrong.

I did a full factory reset, and then a blind scan on Astra 19.2E, and I get a fair old rake of channels (900+) despite having a 16 year old Universal LNB and 60cm dish on the wall.

Anyway, the unit says CNN (for instance) is at 12627V when Lyngsat/KingOfSat say 11778V. I am Mr. Confused.

My unit has s/w version 111, June 2011.

Hoping someone can help, this forum looks great

    Cheers
    Ed

Hi. Do you get a picture for CNN on 12627V? Because on my TM5400 SUPER CNN is on 11776V. If i was you i would delete all channels on 19 EAST. Then do normal scan and then a blind scan and see what you get. Only do this if you have a fixed dish on 19 EAST. I think when you did a factory reset it will put the old frequencies back for all channels and you may have ended up with an old frequency for CNN. Regards.

my tm6902+7100 has cnn at 11778
did you try loading the latest patch from Download center and if you want to use cccam you will have to load latest addon
this will activate server menu ,to get this press "8281" while watching a channel after patching also load the latest softcam to your tm and this will get you some extra channels open on 19.2east found here Softcam Keys

I deleted all channels on the box first and then run a blind scan on the satellites I wanted and now working through deleting all the junk and sorting the lists. I'm back to using 111p as 115p kept freezing for me.

Hi Folks, thanks for the quick answers! To help further:

          1. Yes I get a picture for CNN at the wrong frequency.
          2. I've loaded 115p and have some more channels open, cheers for that.

I think I'll have to do another reset and a blind scan when I get my full kit up and running. I'm going to get a 4 LNB system & new dish (for 13/16/19/28.2E).

          Cheers!

Hi. Good news but why dont you get a motor instead of messing around with loads of LNB's cables etc. A motor will also be cheaper than numerous LNB's. But its your choice. Take care.

i agree with nutsandbolts if you have the space and the view of the sky
i don't,so i have a fixed triax 90cm dish with multibracket and four octo lnb's working very well most of the time at 13+19.2+23.5+28.5 east i wish i had few of sky for 39east for the softcams

Hmm! You have given me something to think about. I was against a motorised dish, because of the delay between changing channels. I guess as long as I don't channel hop too much, it should be acceptable (but how long between 28.2E and 19.2E, roughly?).

I have enough view of the sky, but I might need to put the larger dish on a pole. Not a problem :-)

I'll look into it more. Thanks!

Hi. When you say how long between 28.2 EAST and 19.2 EAST do you mean in time or distance?? Either way its not very long as they are next door to each other. Also thijs if you can now get sats from 13 east to 28.2 east have you tried to get HELLAS sat at 39 EAST by moving the dish manually?. If you do then you can put a motor up. Regards

Hi, yes I meant time. I guess just a few seconds?

I don't own a motor, and my current 19E dish is very misaligned (I don't get many channels from weaker TPs).

A basic motorised system is around ?130 which is OK. I think I will do this...

Hi. If you already have a dish the motor cost around 50 pounds (a TM2600 with USALS and DISEQC) . Certainly on 19 EAST you should get all the available channels as this a very strong satellite for the UK. You probably need to tweak it a bit to get the strong signals. If you need advice remember to ask here. Regards.

Thanks for the suggestion but i have 7 recievers around the house and i can watch any sat at any time on any of the recievers of the four sat's
wich would be of most interest for me and it's very hard to get view of sky at 39east for me not impossible.but would be to messy just feel like i'm missing out on the freebies sometimes

Hi. WOW seven receivers around the house. Do you have enough time to watch them all?? Take care.
