New 7102 owner

Hey everyone, just saying hi. I just got a new 7102 and just trying to get my head around this kind of set up. Any tips?

well, I have a new 7102 w/HDD and 1m orbital ally dish, supreme dark motor, inverto ultra LNB. I am currently receiving 24 satellites and can view fta. I have loaded this patch Phantompatch-08-11-2011%20TM7102HDT2_115p.stb and I have connected to net via Bband and watched a youtube vid so I'm definitely online. At this point I am stuck.
Is there a difference between c/s and patching? Am I wrong to think that some channels can be viewed just by adding a patch or do I have to connect to someone else's *set up?(*not keen on that).
I hate being a nOOb thanks for your help.

Your stb once patched and latest softcam loaded will clear irdeto 2 channels on 39e bulsat provider.
It may/should clear 19.2e canal digitaal irdeto 2 channels.
It may also clear tntsat channels on 19.2e
few arqiva channels on 5e.
Only if you have a cs line or card will you clear any other packages.

it will not clear c.nl non of the 02 series models have had a patch that will clear c.nl on 19.2 east as of yet.

Bugga! Thanks for your help guys. It looks like I have a very expensive sat receiver that doesn't actually allow me to watch what I want to watch (footy, motogp, wsb).
It's hard to find any info for starters so it's a bit of an expensive gamble for a nOOb. You live and learn eh? Spose I can watch F1 in german .

Am I right in thinking that buying cards is probably more expensive than paying for a certain uk sat provider? I can't go back to funding Murdoch!

It will open nova sport and diema for epl on 39e with latest softcam.
They show all the sky/espn games plus 2 3pm sat ko.
Also covers cl footy and internationals.
No english audio though.
RTL show boxing ppv and also F1 is available fta on19.2e German audio.
Sport1 show premier league darts fta also German audio.
Jsc sport 1 on 26e/7w show championship boxing usually sky coverage and audio fta.
GRTS 7e show a 3pm sat epl game fta with English audio.
FA cup also on 19.2e fta German audio.
Sport Italia 12.5w fta shows chamionship footy Italian audio.
Plenty of films/series on 7w with English audio.
Also MBC channels on 26e fta Englsih audio plus spl Arabic audio on KTV 3.
Loads to be getting on with.

I dont appear to have 26e or 7w, got 23.5e and 8w but theres no Jsc sport on them.
Got 7e but there's no channel called GRTS.

To be honest, I'm struggling to even operate the receiver because I dont know the basics of how to save my channel info or satellite info and so am reluctant to risk trial and error. I have set up the sats with DiSEqC 1.2 and manual adjustment but am a bit too scared to scan or do anything I dont know about in case I lose the channels and sats i already have. I had the receiver pre tuned at the shop to make installing easier. What is "auto navigation" and should I try it? Sorry for the many questions mate, I can usually do anything I put my mind to but right now I feel like I "can't see the wood for trees"

You will need to manualy tune channels if not there.
Dont use auto navigation.
There is new softcam last few hrs for bulsat 39e.

Yeah I agree which is why I cannot understand why TM produce some awesome kit and then dont mention how to operate most of the functions.. is it really just for enthusiasts?
Is there a forum somewhere that just shows how to operate this receiver? I mean how to save channel lists and sat lists and what the hell a blind scan is? What is auto navigation etc etc I hate feeling useless but the manual appears to be written for someone who doesn't actually need a manual.

all the info is right here you have to read a lot of stuff and trial and error a lot ,i have the tm 7100 pretty much the same
you just have a few more features on your tm.
If you don't want to sub murdoch to much any more i would suggest c.s. with cccam a good bit cheaper
all the threads about tm5402+6902 will be the same as the 7102
only your box is a triple tuner but the set up is the same .
Have a read of the stickies and the softcam section is on top of this page
