    Technomate 5500 DAPCI

I have a Technomate 5500 DAPCI that I have not used for years and just wondered if there was any useful patch that can be applied to this receiver.

If so any help and pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated

No up to date software for that receiver however if you buy a diablo cam or a programmed card you have a lot of channels including those on patch and softcam

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

      hi m8,
if the receiver is in working condittion the only way to go is with a cam, mate there is'nt any patch support now for the tm 5500DAPCI model is not now in production and the last official software on technomate.com website
is version [HEB507DCI10.07] dated the 25th October 2003
the same software version is used for both these models

I read somewhere that it could be converted to a Next receiver but it didn't give many details, is this not the case or does it not give any advantage?

they can be changed to a next receiver,
but you have to be very carefull or you
can damage the bootloader when changing it
and if that happens it then wont work plus you
have to buy a remote control, but is there any support now for
the next receivers now? i dont know. for me it would be as cheap to
get one of the new technomate models and take advantage of the patches
but if you fancy ago This is what you need to do..............

          1. Update to latest version of the TM firmware for your model
First check the firmware version on your TM.
Go to the Main menu on your TM and you should find the
          s/w version information under "STB Information";
If you have a remote control with a blue center, then,
if the s/w version starts with HEB508A, then you don't
need to update the TM firmware.
If you have a remote control with a silver center, then,
if the s/w version starts with HEB507A, then you don't
need to update the TM firmware.
Otherwise, go to the "Downloads" section on the Technomate site,
select your TM model, then download the firmware that your TM
requires. Then go to the TM "Support" section and download the
"Instructions on how to use the dts40 link software loader".

          2. Upgrade your Techomate with NEXT firmware
Once you have upgraded to the latest TM firmware, then find
a forum with the firmware required to upgrade your box
to a Next receiver, and loads of documentation and information
on how to perform the upgrade. Download and read all the
documentation carefully before you start doing any upgrade.
You will need a 9-pin female-female RS232 null modem cable
to perform the above TM update and Next upgrade.
If you have a remote control with a silver center, then
you will need to change it after you have patched the TM
          to a Next receiver.
