New to satelite scene, help please!

hi all,

i followed the cable scene a couple of years ago with sucess untill it went pear shaped, and now a friend is having sucess with a TM500 via satelite.

i currely pay Sly, and need help in knowing what box to buy (As i can see technomate TM500 boxes on fleabay new for ?69?) and want to know how to flash them to receive channels.

all the help is greatly appreciated as always.

Buy a linux stb ie DM500/TM500/600 if wanting to share in/out or DM800 if wanting HD as well.
Buy a closed source linux stb ie Openbox/spiderbox/tm5402 etc if only sharing in.
These are HD stb and openbox at ?55 for HD is best deal.
Google for sharing lines/server or get from your mate.
