Hi all, i wondered if someone could help me please.
I have a Technomate 6900 Super plus motorized 0.9m dish and was told that the smart card reader would read all cards.
I have recently been to Romania and have purchased a two year package with Focus Sat. the package included dish,LNB2 and a KAON receiver. This was done through a friend residing in Romania and booked to him.
For some reason the card does not work in my Technomate, i believe the encryption is Conax. Could you let me know if i have done something wrong and what i need to do to correct it.

Does receiver see the card, but just wont clear or doesn't see it at all?
I would try inserting in a conax cam.
From what i have read these cards work in any conax embedded receivers though.
Is your TM6900 up to date with patches etc?

as manic says maybe try using it with latest patch from Download center 746

Thanks guys. I have checked in the menu and it acknowledges a conex card is loaded. Have a small problem now, receiver will not detect all frequencies, think the dish maybe need tweaking a little as some have sound but no picture.Have a 90 cm dish, would a bigger dish cure the problem? I did get a LNB 2db with it, should i change mine with this? Any help would be grateful.

some of the channels dont encrypt the audio stream and thats probably why... unless you are 100% certain that those pacific channels should clear with your card then it could be signal level due to slight mis-alignment although the focus sat package(1 west) uses the strongish k2 beam with 48dbw. regards mdt

Thanks my friend. I will try re-align this weekend. Afraid k2 and 48dbw means nothing to me. Can i withdraw more of your expertise and ask what is the better lnb? 1 or 2 universal.
