    tm500 s motorised problem

Took a lot of advise of this site on how to set up a motorized rig, read a lot and learnt a lot.... thank you.

I have a TM500 super with a motorized tm2300 motor and a inverto black ultra lnb.

All set up and running fine on all sats, then suddenly.. nothing.

When i try to view a channel i get a message to say "moving dish to 28.2" ( assuming i want a channel from this sat)

No green light is visible on motor. The TV shows the normal screen but lacks the time ( shown as --:-- ) and channel info etc

I know the cabling, lnb, motor etc are ok as checked with an S11.

Thinking the tuner or something may be faulty ? The STB is only 1 month old.

    Hope someone can help....

    Thank you.

This used to happen alot on my mates,at first rebooting would start it then changing the image but in the end a new power supply sorted it.
What we also did was find an image which would let you change the Tone Ampitude like in the pic below.
Im guessing that gives more power to the motor and has 4 power settings.

    Andy.

      Thanks Andy.

Can you give any more info on the power supply?

      What kind of mVA worked?

Also, which image offers those options.

      Thanks.

Some images let you change power input like this.
          Menu
          Setup
          Option
          Service Searching
          Satellite Configuration
          Highlight LNB0
          and click ok

Then make sure you select the increased voltage option.

            Thanks for that info.

I cant seem to be able to do that on the image im using.

            I have UR 11-3-11

Which image is capable of doing this.

Ive tried IQ GP and UR and STB still same.

            TIA

                Thanks for link.

Im using that image. I have no option on that to alter the tone amplitude other than to change the voltage from 14, 18 h/v and off.

This was working 100%. I did hear a kind of high pitched buzzing from the power pcb area in the stb though.

On satfind i get the the same agc, snr readings regardless of whether the coax is connected or not. Again, im 100% certain that cabling, lnb etc are ok as checked with an s11. Cant test motor with s11 as it just crashes every time it tries to drive the dish.

I think it may have to be a return to vendor.

Thanks for all the help, im tearing out whats left of my hair!

Is there an internal reset for overload or something?

What kind of voltage should i get at lnb out?

Hi. Dont give up just yet. You said you had no green light on the motor. This can be a cable problem or motor problem. Check cable with a sat meter to see if power is coming from receiver, ie disconnect cable from motor end and put it in the sat meter. If meter lights up and beeps then cable is ok. If meter dont light up then try the same cable in the LNB and see if you get a signal or picture. If you get signal or picture then problem lies with the motor.
If no signal or picture from LNB then cut a bit of cable off at both ends and try again. I had similar problems a while back with a TM2600 motor and i had to cut the cables a bit and it worked. Hope this makes sense.
                      Regards.
