    5402 and rf feeds

I have just purchasesd a5402 to replace my old sky box. One of the main reasons I chose this box was the fr outputs so I could send the output to other rooms. Unfortunately the quality of the picture sent to the other room is appalling. Any suggestions of what I might be doing wrong? (the picture in the main room is excellent).

Menu - System settings -av settings- select rf channel-exit and save.
Keep changing till you get good one.
Most TM set as default to 40

Yes mine was set to 40. I have tried changing to all the others and I get nothing - just blue screen - in the other room. Any other suggestions?

once you have changed the output on the technomate you will have to scan for it on the TV

I didn't do that - any suggestions on which rf channel numbers to start with first?

It depends what RF channels that your terrestrial transmitter is using, but if you are not using a VCR then CH36 should be clear, otherwise start at CH21 and work your way up remembering to retune the TV each time.

Took a quick pic of the rf output I get from my tm5402 on channel 60 granted it's not hd quality but I've never seen an rf that is.uploadfromtaptalk1339696885234.jpg

I am not getting a lot of luck - I have done about 15 channels and none of them have picked up a signal at all. Channel 40 is the only one at the moment and the quality is awful. Will keep going.

Your old Skybox would probably have been set at Ch68, so try that if you had the Sky connected by RF lead.

I tried that one - got nothing. Is it normal on most channels to get nothing?

Can you disconnect the HDMI lead from the 5402 temporarily to see if that is causing interference as some are known to do this.

That hasn't help - I have plugged in the scart instead of hdmi but no difference.

Have you got a different RF lead that you could try ?
