I have videiod a programme to my a usb card on my 5402. This was no problem but when I take the usb stick out and put in my technisat freeview box in the other room it won't play back. I presume there is a problem being able to read the files. Does anyone know of a usb card reader I could buy that would allow me to play back recordings from a technomate 5402? There are quite a few for sale on Amazon for about ?25 but I don't want to buy one and it not to play back the technomate recordings.

How disappointing - are there no usb media players that will play it back? To be honest I wanted to do this a lot and I don't want to have to keep converting files every day it takes so long - and often reduces quality.Comment

I have just bought a usb media player from e bay - about ?23 - and it plays the usb recordings from my technomate fine via a hdmi lead. I have only tried sd recordings at the moment.Comment

From a firm called happy-dealers.
I also enquired from a firm called justopeshop on e bay who also do a usb media player - they confirmed theirs would playback files recorded on a technomate but I had already bought mine by then.
My player is very small and even comes with a hdmi lead.Comment
