TM-5600 CI USB - switching on and off - help please

Two days ago picture of TV went fuzzy and since then nothing works. Whenever I switch my TM-5600 CI USB on, four ---- lines come on, then the number of my chosen channel flashes up, but straight away I'm getting the four ---- again. When looking at the TV screen I find the motorised dish tries to move to Astra, but then it stops straight away and goes back a blank screen. I tried to go to the menu, but it doesn't let me.

The green light of the motorised dish is on, so that seems to be ok. I unplugged everything and put it back in again, but no change. I had some guttering repaired last week, but the cable coming from the dish seems to be ok.

I have no idea what to do now. Should I try and put a new softcam and patch on via USB (did it last time Sept 2011), or get a new LNB? Before I pay for a technician to come round and sort the problem, I would like to try everything I can, though I'm a complete newbie. Any tips and hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

try quickly changing channels as soon as the box boots up(dodgy channels can cause this fault),then if you can access the menu make a note of your lat/long settings and do a factory re-set and either re-scan or load a channel list.
if this doesnt work do a forced download as per instructions but you need a computer with a com port.
it doesnt sound like an LNB fault.

PS you can try this list but re check your long /lat after loading
