Hi been offered the above for ?50 and was wondering if it was worthwhile buying it (currently using dual sat card in pc) or putting the money to something newer

    Thanks

if it has the ethernet port it's worth it(a super)
if not i would go for the newer model like the Tm5402
but these are single tuner recievers so it depends what you want to do m8

For ?50 its a pretty good buy it can still be patched and run Softcam even if it did not have an ethernet port although that would be pretty handy as well.

All depends on what you want to do with it really.

hi thanks for the replies, been away since d2mac and 1w years ago so overhauled the dish new twin lnb and motor and looking to dip my toes back in.

not to bothered about the 6800 only having 1 lnb at the momnent till i get back into the swing of things as its all changed since i had my card and keys back then.

so been told its a 6800+ so assume it has the ethernet(will ask), so buy this or go for a newer model although funds are tight at the moment so around ?150 would be my max.

Then get a TM5402HD if you want a closed source box if you want Open source Linux then either look at a clone DM800se or even Gigablue 800se.

There are cheaper receivers if you want to go that way Openbox around ?55 Eaglebox 800hd ?49 and the new Ferguson Arriva 202e ?79.

            Plenty of choice around

You can get the tm5402 for under ?150 when you shop around (i saw someone that got one on e-bay for ?129)the tm's have one of the better HD pictures in it's price
the support for 3th party patches is a bit slow at the moment but if you want to go c.s. (client only)way it does what you want it to do with the right patch and add-on

one thing that is handy or vital on most sat boxes is support, failing that it will be a doorstop, how good is/was the tm support.?

used to be okay,at the moment it seems to be at a stand still.
It was never great on the tm's in my experience.
In the beginning it used to be very good i'm told.
