Signal problem..28.2e>>>

hello..
only recently i figured out that on 28.2e half the transponders now have no signal and the other half has snq of 51 even though it use to be well over 80 before.. all the sats beyond this have also stopped workin... however 8w, 5w, 1w, 5e, 7e, 9/10e, 13e, 16e, 19.2e, 23.5e all still work..i think its the lnb skew but yesterday they were working so what can it be?

i read a very simular post on anouther forum, and a member posted this
there has been well over 100 changes on 28.2 east,19.2east & 13 east in the last 3 days, i dont know if it's a fact i dont look at 28e very often but a rescan might find the chns again for you

Just to confir please can some one just try tuning in to bangla tv please and tell me if it still works and the signal quality..
This is a channel which my dad watches so he stays up to date with whats happening in his country..

it's a problem at your end mate every channel on astra 2
has a signal level of 98 and a quality 92 on my tm 6900
but i have a 1.2 dish and bangla tv is the same quality

Im reflashing our reciever with original rm software then will repatch and see if that sorts it...
will get back to you...

update...still not working even though i have put on official tm software then patch..i have even factory resetted...
will have to try without patch and no channel data tjhen take it step by step

i have done everything which doesnt require my dad gettin the ladder out[recut f-connector end, all types of software, fresh channel list] but still not working..my only other idea is to get out the fortecstar and see if that receiver receives any signal then that will tell me whether i need the dish sorting out or not.........

a silly thing have you checked all the cables
are pushed home fully in the box, scarts after a time
get a bit of a sloppy fit

no because 8west to 23.5e atill work so cables must be okay

There is a bit of moving around taking place over the next month on Astra 2 this could be the reason .

SES ASTRA (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG), an SES company, announced today that it will be moving the ASTRA 2C satellite from its current orbital position at 28.2 degrees East to 31.5 degrees East to take over the mission of ASTRA 5A which is no longer in service.

ASTRA 2C will be moved to 31.5 degrees East in March / April 2009 and will remain there for approximately one year. In the meantime, the services transmitted via 28.2 degrees East will continue to be broadcast from the other satellites co-located at this orbital position. ASTRA 2C will be able to operate 24 BSS transponders at 31.5 degrees East, thereby continuing the commercialization of this orbital position.

Following the launch of ASTRA 3B in the fourth quarter of 2009 and its subsequent deployment, another in-orbit satellite will be moved to 31.5 degrees East, permitting the return of ASTRA 2C to 28.2 degrees East and to enhance capacity at this orbital position.

Ferdinand Kayser, President and CEO of SES ASTRA, said: "The move of ASTRA 2C demonstrates our strong commitment to develop 31.5 degrees East into an important position, especially for Central and Eastern Europe. At the same time our fleet flexibility allows us to redeploy ASTRA 2C at 28.2 degrees East after the launch of Astra 3B in order to serve the growth in the UK market, particularly coming from High Definition (HD) broadcast services."

I have had the same issue on a 90cm dish last week very low signal, it went away after a day or so, but on a 1.4 meter dish no issue detected in signal Dreambox well over 90% but Technomate was showin 45-56% .

Figured out..dish bracket moved slightly to the right..
Just needed fine tuning and tightening..
All sorted now..
