    Problem with softcam

    Hi,
I have a TM 5400 CI+ USB. I've been away from the satellite scene for a few years now and decided to get back into it.
I've updated the box to latest phantom patch (1.90p Mar 28 12), and installed latest softkey from this board.
However, all channel I've tried aren't opened - I've been mainly trying the channels on 19.2E and 13E (as that's what has been setup, with 2 dishes) but to no avail. Am I missing something? Are these keys only for access to certain channels/networks?
From reading these boards it seems Bulsat is a gaurantee open? but I can't get any signal from bulsat with my configuration.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

Edit: I can get 19.2E, 13E, 4.8E and 39E using my 2 satellites, but I can't always get the frequencies as mentioned by some users on this board. Any advice?

the dutch channels on 19e are down but the austrian channels are clearing but it might need to re-boot several times first just leave it on one of the channels, theres about 8 channels on 39e open.

      Thanks for your help.
I'm having a strange problem involving the CanalSat channels. I get a good signal on 11739 V 27500, but I can't seem to get any of the channels! MTV, Game One etc.
      Any ideas?

I would go back to patch 189p if I were you and try again.

(Those channels on 11739 are open on my 5400 Super.)

I had a read. The problem i'm having at the moment isn't opening the channels - I spent all night doing blind searches and managed to get a few open.
My current problem now is that although I get signal, I can't seem to find the channels on the frequencies. I've inputted all the correct info from lyngsat, got good signal, scan and hardly anything returns. I'm trying to find canalsat, mainly MTV France/game one which is 11739 v 27500 on Astra 1.

thanks for the suggestion carew. I reverted to 189p and it's still the same problem, full signal, but on 11739 V 27500 on 19.2 only returns me 18 channels (which aren't the ones i'm looking for). Very strange.

That sounds about right for the number of channels on 11739.

Use Advanced Search and enter the tuning details there (making sure you choose the correct satellite) and then press Red to scan.

I've been doing exactly that and changing various settings too. Even tried PID search, and I'm still not getting the channels I'm looking for in the channel list..

I only get a bunch of 'SCT' channels which advertise redlight stuff and a few misc channels, that's about it.

Are you sure your dish is setup on 19.2 E ?

It sounds as if you are trying to scan Hotbird on 13 E and not Astra on 19.2 E.

I get full signal on that frequency so it should pick it up?

I've done full blind searches on 13E and 19.2E, and I don't seem to pick up the same networks as others (also referencing channels on lyngsat) etc.

I presume the dish isn't setup properly? But the transponder signal level is quite high, so I don't understand why it shouldn't pick it up.

It seems as if you have the two satellites mixed up in the DiSEqc settings. Enter Satellite setup and change them around, if Hotbird is 2 and Astra is 1 then switch them around to Hotbird as 1 and Astra as 2 (or vice versa).

Thanks again for all your help. I should have mentioned, I use a manual lnb A/B switcher (old school I know) so all diseqc settings are off.

Only one of the satellites gets signal on 19.2e

As I said, you are trying to tune the wrong satellite. The SCT channels are only found on Hotbird 13 E.
