    tm5402 record problem

Hi, just a quick question please, I have a TM5402 HD and last night I have tried to record onto my usb pen drive a film that was on a scrumbled channel (but visible via cs and softcams files), but when I have checked the film there is a file long 2 hours but is all blank....So my question is can I record on a usb pen drive a scrumbled channel? Second, I have check the performance of my usb drive(it is a sandisk 8GB) with the feature of speed check on the menu of my box, and it says low performance or something like that.... What could it be?many thank for your help

Yes you can rec pay channels ok.
Select the file using remote and press button named file list which is left of the red rec button.

Ok, so I can record but what about my pen drive? The file is blank, no film on it just a file long 2 hours without sound&images.....Do I need some usb drives with a minimum spec for speed data transfer?

Did you do what I said?
Dont access file using menu access using the remote button labelled file list.

I am sorry to be a pain but I tried again and same problem... 2 hours file blank....it seems like when I set up the timer my box is not able to record a 2 hours film onto my usb pen. Instead there is no problem when I record by pressing the record button. Any idea?

get a better performer usb powert HDD around 320-500 gb or
an iomega 1TB is what i use on my tm's all the time with little problems.
did you format the usb pen drive in the disk manager menu of the tm ?

No I have only formatted the usb as fat32 with my computer -fat32 is the recommended one from technomate manual user. But what niggles me is that a record direct works fine but with the timer blank....can't understand...

and had similair problems but when i formatted it in the tm's disk managers menu it worked fine after that.(fat32)

I will try that and see, thank you. Can I ask another thing please: is there any sort of software able to convert the tm file in a more manageable avi or something like that? Many thanks
