    Received Advice Needed

I am doing a bit of research before I buy a receiver. I have been browsing the forums for some time now.

I currently have sky hd from a communal dish with one feed. I am going to cancel my sky subscription and try to set up a Technomate receiver myself(probably a 5402HD).

I am assuming that my dish is currently being pointed at astra 28.2 and it is a fixed dish that i cannot move(dont think the other people in my block would be happy if i did ). Does this mean that I will not receive a lot of the channels that the softcams can decrypt for me because my dish cant move to the correct position?

Also, can anyone recommend a cheaper technomate that still has usb functionality for updating softcams etc. I dont really need anything other than EPG.

softcams no good on astra 28.2
You will need a box with internet connection to get any use or just f.t.a.

Does that mean if I go for the 5402hd and use the softcams with my fixed dish and make sure my reciever is connected to the Internet then it should function as it should without a motor driving my dish?

You will only receive 28e with your communal dish nothing else.
          Softcams are no use.

We recently had an engineer install a system elsewhere with the same receiver and he did not move the dish and on that we do receive the other channels with no problem. Would this mean it is most probably c/s which I know we can't discuss?
