hi all, i went to install a motorized dish with a techno-mate motor. i had lots of problems with the motor commands.when i arrived on the job the original motor had the same problem.so i put up the new one .same thing happened to that motor.then i discovered that the customer had rg6 (non expensive one) 150 feet from the house buried under the ground in 2 .5 inch round PVC pipe.then i discovered that 90% of the PVC was covered in water.i rang techno-mate and they told that it could be that the sensors blew in the motor.lads have anybody come across this before. thank you jhaye2x

Hi. Does motor have grren light on and have you tried to move it manually using the two buttons. You sure its not a receiver problem. If possible try it on a different receiver. Also disable limits from motor menu in case they may have been set. I have installed loads of TM2600 motors without problems. In my opinion very good motors .
Good luck. -

green light perfect.manually moves perfect.i did not disable the limits as i was going from 5 degrees west starting off and then trying to get to 28.2 astra ,hotbird 13 degrees, astra 19.2 degrees.
i have also installed motorized systems mainly technomate.when i went to put the new motor on ,i did not know what cable he had previously used on his old tm motorized system, also it was 120-150 feet away, plus the one thing that i did not see at the start was it was underground in PVC piping full of water.when i discovered it ,i changed the cable to ct-100 +a line in amp.but as i said i think the damage was done unknown to me from the original cable in water and the motor had a mind of it's own.sorry lads i did change to a new tm receiver with the same problem. jhaye2xComment

Hi. The reason i said try a different receiver was to eliminate any software issues with the first one. So we know the cable is ok because you get the green light etc. Have you tried to set the motor to zero using USALS and 1.2. Also double check there are no limits set by using the DELETE LIMIT option in motor control menu. If it still does not move then you can always open the motor up( quite easy to do) and look inside for any signs of damage. Do not open the motor if it is still under warranty best to check with the seller first.

the biggest problem i was having, when i set the motor to 5 west, then went inside the house it was locked on,if i touched any buttons on the remote to change channels on the same transponder or even 5 west the motor kept going to 65 west.i had no control on the motor from the remote/receiver.this happened all the time.the only way i could get to any satellites was manually going to the motor and doing it by hand .when i done this the same process happened all over again ie (then went inside the house it was locked on,if i touched any buttons on the remote to change channels it went to 65 west) jhaye2xComment

Hi. Why dont you try what i do sometimes ie take motor indoors and put it on a table with the tail up. Then connect a short cable to receiver and have receiver plugged in to your tv. Ignore the LNB cable as not required for testing. Then just play around with it using USALS and see if it stops at the right mark on motor dial. Check if you get an orange light coming up as this may indicate problems with sensor. Set motor to zero to begin with . Also is receiver USALS friendly?? From what you are saying it sounds very much like a sensor problem. If you are anywhere near London i could come and have a look for you free of charge if you like.

Could be either, if you dont have a spare receiver to try you cant rule out the motor and vice versa
