    USB flash drive?

    Can I use one to record on this Technomate TM-5402 HD Super CI+ ETHERNET????

    Yes but you'll find the read/write speed awful - to the point of the program being unwatchable.

    Get a cheap USB hard disk instead.

        Some USB sticks are fine, but most (depending on the controller) aren't that good. Only way is to suck it and see!

        I have a Kingston, Memorex and Maxell stick, none work very well, but I tested a Corsair one and it was fine. I just would get a HDD though, price per GB is much better and if you want to record a lot of stuff, then HDD is the way to go IMHO.

          I use Kingston ok, I also have 500gb seagate.
          Both work ok.

            Just bought a toshiba 2TB USB HDD. Hopefully that will be ok.

              try the usb stick 1st(its a lot cheaper than an HDD) if you only want to record the odd event or film I"v never had any trouble with either maxwell or sandisk cruzer the play back is perfect using a protek but HD on TM 6800 was rubbish but thats the box not the stick.

                It's mainly for the misses as she records a lot. Like I say this is only temporary but I will be able to use the hdd for other stuff once I get the box I want
