The EPG is controlled by CrossEPG there is nothing else apart from either downloading from OpenTV which takes the EPG direct from the satellite stream but only supports 3 satellites but is generally the best for 28.2.

The next is Rytec server or XEPGDB both are downloaded from online servers and stored as usual on your H/D or USB the 'X' one is faster due to it being in compressed format.

You can either download manually once a day or set it up in Crossepg to download at a ceratin time everyday so it gets refreshed on a daily basis.

There are series link plugins but most just act the same way as a normal timer with the added it will record a program on monday night at 9pm every week until you turn it off so a semi series link.

Hi mate. I am getting my alien 2 tomorrow. I plan to put sat shop image on it straight away. I see that it already has the main plugins already on it like crossepg and cooltvguide. Do I have to enable them or set locations for the epg to store to or something? I ask this as I here u have to put epg onto a memory stick, not the flash memory...

Seeing as you will be setting it up on an Enigma2 image then yes you have to set it up exactly the same as you would every other E2 machines.

Generally yes you would set the EPG to download to either a USB stick or a hard drive, As nandflash should just be kept for the image and any plugins
