Hi can anyone please tell me if I do a factory reset will I lose the information in the 8281 section

back it up onto a usb stick first,regards mdt

The 8281 function is part of the ADDON and so should remain intact even if you flash the box with new firmware

Thanks I am not very good at this I know the basic how would I be able to get it on to the usb stick from the box I know how to put it in but I don,t know how to take it back out could you explain to me how to do it thanks

If you press 8281 on the remote control it should bring up the Addon page which holds all the so called 'Gift' information, look to the bottom of the page i cant quite remember which coloured button off the top of my head but one should be marked with the words csinfo upload. Press the correspoding button that matches the text and with a USB stick inserted in the back it should upload it to the stick, Put this into your PC/laptop and open with notepad to make sure it has backed up the relevant information.

Factory reset does not remove anything from the addon (8281) section as digicon has said and neither does flashing a new firmware or reinstalling the addon. Even if you Flash a genuine technomate image to revert back to stock. When you Flash a phantom image again all the details will still be there. Remember 8281 is only required on old phantom patches after 117p (I think) you press the ip button the remote to get to the same screen
