what is an addon file?

hi there sorry to ask such a basic question but what is an addon file,have just ordered a 5402 hd and I am waiting on delivery so I am trying to learn as much as I can,thanks,

The addon file is the container for the fairy dust that makes the magic work. I can't go into any more detail than that without this thread going down a very slippery slope and being closed.

thanks happy highlander for that,but do you know of any beginners guide to Linux as I am egar to learn there is a lot of info on different forums but they all seem to be under the impression that you have some knowledge

the TM5402HD is a closed source box and doesnt run under linux... if you want to learn about linux then get yourself a dm500s and have a play around with it until your confident enough to get yourself a E2 box like a vu+ or dmm,regards mdt

The best thing you could ever do is buy a cheap DM500 and have a good mess around, great learning toy and plenty fun !
