5402 HD - formating fat32

Hi

Not been on here for a while but I hope somone can help me.

I've formated my external hd to fat32 and it records fine but when I try and plug the external hd in to another source - samsung blue ray or lg tv it won't play my recordings.

I'm going wrong some where but pretty dim when it comes to IT / technology.

Please point me in the right direction to resolve my problems.

Hasn't that always been the case, I may be wrong here but I don't think I was ever able to play a recorded file from the 5402 on any other device

digger99 is correct the 5402 records files in the .trp extension format which is an adaptive form of MPEG2 so is only compatible with that machine or devices capable of playing back a .trp extension
