first ive entered my i/p address in the box but keeps telling me connection failed ,do i have to enter default gateway i/p as its last digit is different from my i/p address?

The first part of you question was never answered? I have got a used TM5402HD CI Super+ and does not seem to talk to the router (even though it is shown on router as existing with the same IP address as shown in TM ip)?

Did you resolve this issue? If yes, how did you resolve it?

If you've set DHCP to on and network settings are appearing in setup on the 5402 then it's talking to the router. If you're trying to get Youtube then that won't work unless you have a 5402 M3(see in System Information) and the latest patch software(1.32)

OK there seems to be a difference between the M2 and M3. I just got an M3 and every time I power the M3 off, my power line adapter seems to power down, so I have to just switch off and on the power line adapter, before going back to IP settings and scanning again. Very annoying!

Hi Of course there is a difference between Mk2 and Mk3..thats why they call them MK2 and MK3. You have different apps and memory sizes for a start etc. When you power off the M3, or any other boxes for that matter, anything attached to the box ie USB or ethernet cable etc will also power down. This is normal as there is no power to the devices if box is powered off. Dont know why you are gettting annoyed as the Mk3 works perfectly when it is setup correctly.
                    Regards.

Try turning the 'Power Saving' feature 'OFF' in the main menu so instead of just a Red Light the display should show the Clock permanently

Never happened on my M2. Maybe it is the power saving, but back in the old days we'd hold a hardware reset/busy line high so that any external device wouldn't detect the voltage drop and power itself off. Back in the day when energy saving wasn't an issue

Hi What do you mean it never happend on your M2??. If you switch off your M2 or put into standby what do you think is going to work...your LNB/motor/USB etc i dont think so. Also a router should not be connected to a receiver ..it should have its own power supply from the mains and you connect it to receiver via ethernet cable or wifi dongle...thats how its always worked as far as i know.

                          Regards
