thanks for that I have just uploaded the latest phantompatch however as there was one already in the receiver do I need to delete the old one or does it over-write it?

You should always do a factory reset before adding new firmware. Correct install procedure is as follows. Factory reset/phantom patch/factory reset/addon/factory reset/channel list. If only adding new channel list you want menu/factory reset menu/delete all channels then put box into standby power back on and add new channel list from usb. This will clear all traces of old epg which is required or any channel number changes will screw with epg if and will also stop any channel numbering errors from old lists

And to keep within the rules certain firmwares on the 5402 do not work correctly with multiple instances all switched on at the same time within the 8281 function

There is a new firmware now available for 5402/M2 versions try that one

thanks for that happy highlander,so after I do a factory reset then load phantompatch then factory reset again does this not delete the new phantompatch?,the same goes for the addon .Sorry if this sounds silly but I am still finding my feet with all this so I want to be sure, thanks again.

You dont need to reflash the addon as this is separate from the firmware.

No it won't delete the firmware surprisingly and as digi says if you have already installed the addon once you won't need to add it again, I merely gave you the full setup procedure the factory reset will only clean up any errors restoring the box image to factory fresh just as phantom intends it to be.

hi again,I have been reading that the most stable phantompatch is the 117 version if this is correct can I use it in my 5402hd m2?,if not what would you recommend, thanks again.

No you can't use it on m2. I think you only have five choices of patch for m2 so using trial and error won't take too long to find the patch that best suits your setup. Personally I haven't used 117 for a long time as from 128 up they have all been fairly good
