    TM-5300 D+ M2 USB Super+ setup

hi all, i've took the plunge and purchased this box so i can oust my kryptview but to be honest i am now sort of just playing around with things without any real knowledge of what i am doing. i have the relevant patch and have loaded it onto the box, should this unlock all channels or is there something more i need to do? i am only really interested in uk channels so have used 19.2e astra 1 as my satellite is this correct also? i have also downloaded the latest channel list and tried to load that onto my box in the same way as i did my patch ( usb stick ) but i keep getting a failed to write message. still all channels except free to air ones say scrambled and a gentle nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.
cheers all, off to work now looking forward to having another play when i get home.

Hi. UK channels are mostly on 28.2 not 19.2. What satellite do you think you are on or should be on?? As for the channel list is it for a TM box?? Also do you have fixed or motorized dish??? If you are not getting the free channels there is something wrong that you are doing as free to air channels cannot say SCRAMBLED. I would personally just do a scan and see what channels get tuned in to find out what sat you are on and then decide what to do next.

    Regards.

its a technomate 5300 D+ M2 USB Super+, cost ?80 so its nothing special. i do get the free to air channels its the others that are scrambled. from what i read in the noobs guide for patching your technomate, once patched it should just unlock the channels but after trying a dreambox previously i didn't think it would be that simple. tried to find a guide to get me up and running but cannot find one. its a complicated affair this sat business. i'm just using my fixed s*y dish as i'm nowhere near confident enough yet to get jiggy with a big dish and all that, i'm struggling with this.

Hi bob... The problem is if you are stuck on the Sky sat at 28.2 then the patch and softcam will be no good for you. To enjoy the benefits of patches/softcams etc i would recommend you upgrade to a 1m motorized dish but thats entirely up to you.

        Regards.

Not on that receiver anyway as it lacks a LAN connection

how disappointing that is to learn. so even if i did invest in the dish and motor i wouldn't get basic s*y. wrong choice of box again.
so 1 final question, based on my basic needs what box should i be investing in?

If you want to stay with the technomate Brand then the one you should be looking at is the TM5402HD
