I no nothing about the Linux clad top boxes available so with a bit of help you will cram my brains... OK read "technomate vs Dreambox threads on here and other forums and concluded (rightly or wrongly) I should go for dreambox 5402 or the like but NOT a clone ....or should I have a crack at this exercise with a cheap clone first ?
what are the first,simplest advantages of having this type of box ? What the slots for? (obviously I know I have to pay for some viewing as well as FTA( Unfortunately none of my mates (or children ) have embarked on this sat box route so no-one to ask 1 to 1.. my 1.2 dish is at 28.3 ish as was freesat ... so what now ? I feel sure there is stuff out there to be seen ..in...English language /films/drama/documentory.. no adult stuff ...seen it all ....your starter for a bit of help please ,especially jargon busting ...I'm OK with HDMI/SCART but not PID'sand all the other programming bits .....No rush ,I'm lucky enough to be retired so in your own time .....many thanks in advance
