Hello All at DK,

I have just purchased and had installed a Technomate TM-6900 HD Combo Super + with dish. The configuration is pretty much an out of the box config. The engineer told me to install the latest patch and softcam updates.


So now I have I have few questions to all you experts.

• Should I take the engineers advice?
• What will the patch do?
• Is the patch Technomate patch or is it a hack?
• What will I gain from installing the patch?
• What is a softcam?
• What will I gain from installing the softcam updates?
• What will a CAM do for me?

Sorry to ask so many questions but I am a complete newbie....Thanks in advance for your prompt response.

[7]What will a CAM do for me? it can open the channels like the patch
and it can be used to read cards that the receiver card reader cant then
the channels the card is for will open. but cams like the dragon/t-rex diablo
wont open any more channels than the tm patch opens, and thwe way things are going the patch wont open chns for much longer as the encryptions change to unknown encryptions, so if you want the digi-tv chns
on thor 1w open for free and a few chns on the other sats then load the
patch and enjoy it while it lasts it wont be long before the patch opens
nothing of any interest

Found the patches and successfully applied.
