    Technomate and communal aerial system

I am new to this site and new to satellite systems.
I understand that their is a wealth of experience out there which i would like to access.

To start with i have a communal satellite system pointing i presume West. (i live on the top floor of a small housing development, only 7 flats) I have a freesat Box which receives the normal channels with some non freesat channels that i can tune in myself.

I would like to buy the technomate HD super 6000 series and learn about programmimg and updating firmware.

Would this be compatible with my communal satellite? and would i receive more channels such as ABS-CBN (TFC)?
I dont want to buy another dish (i might not get permission to put one up) if i have too can i position it in the loft? will i receive a signal?

If i get a Technomate can i watch channels which i cannot receive on Freesat

    hope you help

    hello mate,
the dish will be pointing at eurobird 1/astra 2a/b/d at 28.2/28.5 East you will only be able to get FTA progs from it with the technomate, you cannot patch it to receive any encrypted channels on that satellite.
no dish is going to work in a loft I"me afraid.to get the most out of the TM you need a clear outside view of the southern skies and a motorised dish.
If you are stuck with just the communal dish the freesat box is good enough.

it might be worth asking for permission they can only say no.
