TM-6900 HD Combo Set-up Help required

Hi, can anybody help with the following:-

Have uploaded latest firmware (Ver 7.03) and then as instructed done a factory reset without any prob's

Have selected and saved all satellites, but after scan I am unable to view any channels. The TM manual reads like it has been translated from a dyslexic chinese novel, so now confused!!

Can anybody supply in laymans terms the method of restoring what was a perfectly good motorised system!!

including what some of the Disq motor settings should be etc.

    Grateful for info

    Rgds

      Al,

Thank you for your response, have definetly got 703 firmware, and have now recovered satellites by 'restore default sat's.

However despite inputting my exact long & Lat co-ordinates, and undertaking Scan of satellites I seem to have more 'bad or no signal' channels than before!!

Also sometimes receiving indication that Sat is moving after viewing one channel and changing to another on the same Sat.

Think sat positions maybe off, but unable to decipher from manual how to software re-align all sats against a known Sat position!!

do you know if this box of tricks automatically beams on to the sat's position or does it travel to the location inputted to the reciever?

May start practising drop kicks with the reciever!!!

      Rgds

can you send motor to 1West and recieve bbc world on 11.323 H24499 using usals if so you can fine tune the sat in by adjusting the longitude in the motorised setting menu 0.2 degrees at a time either east or west do not adjust the latitude. once you have 1West properly tuned if you use usals you will find all the other sats automatically.Usals uses mathmatical calculations to determine the sat positions and does not need a signal to find them once you have the first sat entered but you must scan each time if you do not have channels pre-loaded.
if you cannot find 1W your motor installation may be out.
NB you must locate your 1st sat by manually moving motor assembly/dish read the sticky thread in the general satellite section "how to install a motorised dish"
regarding the dish moving when channel changing if you are on usals and move the dish by the "motor view"control when you change channels the dish will revert to its original position you cannot permanately alter the dish position by that method you can only do that on diseqc 1.2

Technomate, motorised dish set up ~Thank you

          Dick,

A Happy New Year to you, sincere thanks for the info regarding the setting up of my motorised system.

Seems straight forward, when I can arm wrestle the Tv remote from her ladyship and it stops snowing I'll give it a go.

          Many thanks

I totally understand where Lamenera is coming from with the manual. I have had this receiver for over a year now but after updating, or even leaving stock I have never been able to get to grips with the menu system, FAV's, adding channels etc. I have looked and looked for a good laymans guide to using this receiver and found lots of bits and bobs but nothing complete or answering all my questions. My total knowledge of sat systems is setting up an old analogue system years ago & then getting myself this box and a motor. I have seriously been looking also for a good FREE e-book guide to modern systems explaining in laymans terms how to use my equipment to it potential i.e POS settings, freq setting etc. On the technomate I seem to be going in circles with the menu's !
I have updated then added preset channel lists, tried deleting channels not wanted, been unable to add new channels and just get myself confused. all I want is an A to B to C set up for selecting a sat blind scanning for all channels choosing the ones I want. deleting the others. Adding the wanted channels to a FAV list then moving on to the next sat I can pick up & doing the same. Then if needed adding a new channel or restoring a deleted one by inputting its freq details etc. All I seem to do is get it round my neck !
I've also tried to use the USB port on from to play films from a flash drive and been unable to do so even after convering the film to a MPEG - TS stream (it seems to need more than this, which is a shame). I'm ashamed of myself for being so thick as to not to be able to work it all out !!
Oh and I've never been able to work out if using the POS button (which seems only available from directly watching a channel) moves the dish slightly for just that channel and then resets itself for other channels on that sat or not.
Oh yea I'm always filling the memory with blind scans and have problems knowing what to delete or how to scan extra channels on one sat without causing duplicates on the end of the channel list if that makes sense without me sounding to much of a moron

where to start mate but I"ll try.
I"ve found the easiest way to add channels is menu-pid search that way you restrict the scan to one TP.if the TP is not in the boxes memory you can press the green button and add it manually.
if you press the blue button for the "motor view control"window then move east/west and save while on diseqc 1.2 it will keep that position for that sat only but if you are on usals it reverts to its old position when you exit that channel, you have to adjust your longitude in the motorised settings menu to make a permanent change.
after blind scanning you can delete on block either all channels on one transponder or all channels of one encryption by either the yellow or blue button once in the delete channels menu.
playing back films recorded by the box should not be a problem try formatting the stick 1st before you record.
I"ve tried to give you some answers that Ihope help.
              cheers dick b

Blind scan should only be used for feeds. It adds too many transponders thata re of no use. The TM is the most user friendly receiver I have used so I am baffled what the issues are.
