HI, Im interested in buying a sat setup in the new year. I was told to go for a technomate 500/600 but i am wondering is it worth my while paying a little bit more of a technomate tm6800 HD. what are the pros and cons of HD sat? Thank U.

the main difference is the tm 500/600 boxes are linux bases
and the tm 6800/6900 are standard receivers, there has been posts
saying the tm 500/600 will soon have HD versions for sale
the tm 6000 models are easier to set up and patch etc; but the
patches and cams etc: dont open very much at this time, so in
the long run a linux receiver will do more and with a little time and
programming knowledge will in theory open lots more chns for you
