Which patch best? - TM6900 Combo

Hi all, would appreciate some feedback to a Newbie on the subject of patches. I'm just setting up a combo and I've noted that various people indicate different experiences with different patches - all the way through to 703. I'm using an 85cm in the Midlands with full arc sweep. Not looking at CS just now - just looking to get the most out of the TM for the time being. Knowing that it's not always a given that the "latest" patch is necessarily the best (stability, functionality, etc..) I'm guessing that some people have found a particular patch better than others for a non-CS set-up. Advice greatly appreciated.

if it's the original non super model most say
the best patch is the 6900HD_679p dated17-04-2009.
a lot of the newer patches have had glitches and caused
the receivers to re-boot etc: and as the newer patches dont
open anything more than this patch i still have this patch on my tm6900
and it works first class i just load the softcams when needed.
if you look i'm sure you will find this patch on the forum

It is the later "super" model combo (and am learning very quickly that I have to be much more specific). But your suggestion sounds like a good place to start... and confirms my initial impression that some later patches have the odd glitch

679p patch is best.

Stick with 679p mate.I tried every patch out and this one is best.Don't touch any of the 700 patches they not unlocking a lot of stuff 679p does.I tried 701 and had to use the go back software to put 679p back on and it running fine now.

hello demonacer, just wondered if you could be more specific as to what the 679p opens that the 703 does not? i've got the 703 on and put it on to establish that record one channel and watch another would work and it does for me.?
i appear to have channels open on thor ,sirrius, rai and globo on 13 and kabel deucht on 23.5 , should i expect any thing else? cheers appreciate your knowledge.

Open channels

Had problems opening 23.5 east and also sirius so went back to 679p and they came on straight away.Just swithched me dishes around so 1mtr is motorised now and me 80cm is fixed on Thor.Still finding odds and ends open on older patch and not newer ones.679p accepts my white sky card so I going to stick with that one.I dont need to record one channel and watch another,I have 3 receivers so that will do me.Good luck with new patch and hope you have better luck than me with it mate.
