easy way to find your way round

use 13east hotbird as your starting point, when youve found it all the rest should be easy enough to find. you really do need 2 people also-
          1-download the latest channel lists-
2-when you come across a signal for a channel fine tune it and save using blue button on remote.
          3-then find the next satellite.
          4-welcome

                BBC on 1w is best.

Set your motor conrtol to fixed dish to begin with. You don't want to have the motor moving the dish around until your finnished lining it up.

You need to set to motorised, leave dish slightly loose.
                  Enter usals in motor settings.
Send receiver to bbc world 1 west.
Manually move dish to best possible strength/quality on bbc world.
                  Tighten off dish.
All other sats should now be ok.
Pole must be plumb 100% to track the satellite arc.

It will be by trial and error as dish scales are not that accurate just follow "fearonas" advice and you will succeed.

sorry I"ve just realised you have a TM600 and that guide is for STD technomates but may be of some use to you.

thanks guys. got a few more questions.
1: to get my declination is it, elevation angle, minus declination angle = dish bracket angel?
if thats the case then the figures in thetm-2300 super booklet don't add up.

2: if i send my dish to 1w and scan it doesn't find anything?

                      help pls

Hi m8, at this point you shouldn't need to do any scanning if your using a preloaded channel list. Just load up a channel list via blue pannel and tune into, as suggested the FTA channel BBC World on 1w. Then adjust your dish for reception.

Also depending on where you are in the UK your motor will only move fraction to get from 0 degress to 1w, which is why many suggest using it as a reference.

forget the tables just make sure you have correct latitude set on motor then send motor to 1W via usals then you will have to manually search for the sat by moving the whole motor/dish assembly slowly Left/right and the dish only up/down to find the sat, dish must be pointing as accurately as possible to 1W after motor stops, you can use the "sat find" window on the tm600 for this, make sure thor 2/3 intersat10-02(1W)is in the satellite drop down menu & TP 11.325/24500/H is in the transponder drop down menu.aim for the highest snr & agc you can get,ber should be 0.

                            any ideas peeps

                              Excellent job,

I get the WDT message sometimes, but it goes away when change channel or use menu. I think its for an empty TP, ie the channel is no longer broadcasting on that frequency that you have stored. Press Info twice and you will see on page 3/3 if its empty.

For a check on you alignment. See what you get from the following. After that, its fine tuning if you have a big variation.

While I'm sure the my numbers are not perfect I get the following SNR & AGC with zero BER

                              30w 86 77
                              1w 83 75
                              16e 85 76
                              19.2 93 75

                              Got to go csb
