    static ip no internet connection

    trying to do a tm 500 for the first time and am trying to up date the image,i have on the set up page an ip 192.168.xx.xx and i can put that into a browser and everything comes up and i can use the tools to move ,what am trying to do is put on a new image, with ftp it comes up sayin telnet not connected (so you cant see any files)and i cant put it into /temp folder
    when i try to download from the server i get error 404 or 402 which is your not connected to the internet and at the bottom of the page it says static ip no internet connection ????

    hello mate
    I"ve got aTM500 and as I"m a bit useless in IT skills I found the best way of putting images in was via rs232 port.I found some images wont show internet connection even when you know its connected,I use the ur image dated 14/10/09 that does show everything and the down loads for add ons works ok.

      Ok you can downlaod latest image via the lan button. The issue you have is to ftp you need a password. The tm comes by default as user root and pass is blank. Use tcc to set a new pass.
      Job done.

            All you have to do to fix the INternet prob is this, well so i have figured.
            Hit the LAN Button.
            Tick DHCP
            Press RED/Save
            Hit Lan button again
            UNtick DHCP
            Press Save
            Now enigma will restart
            You now have an IP andinternet connection as the box thinks

            Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

              The easier wayI find with a DM800 that Is connected to a router.
              Shut down, pull the supply out . Hold the off button when you put the supply in and read the IP off the box LCD.
              Use that on Internet exployer, with http:// before the numbers and let it find the box. Then just follow the instructions on the computer. Takes about 5mins.
