TM6900 HD Combo Super+ software

Hi,

Just updated the s/w on the above box - all went well, confirmed ok and the box started the resetting process. Just switched it back on this morning and nothing.. all I'm getting is the blue light and it won't respond. The fuses are ok, checked a few things with the multimeter and all looks otherwise ok so I'm thinking it must be software related. The software version was the correct one (and I've done plenty of updates before without any issue), however anyone know how to go about re-flashing the machine with the previous version again that my PC does not seem to want to connect via the RS232 interface? I want to try and put it back to the original settings and try again however I get the feeling it may be beyond help!

you will need to connect via the rs232 port with a null modem cable if your pc does not have an rs232 port you will need a usb to rs232 adapter but I"ve never had to use these.
anyway the method for forced down load is as follows.
download and unzip a loader & patch or official s/ware.
turn stb off at the rear switch.connect up rs232 null modem cable.open loader on the pc and browse for and load patch click on connect then turn stb back on at the rear wait for sending-erasing-writing-finish.box should reboot and work if not keep trying.

Nope, still no luck. The issue is that the software will not connect. The COM port on my PC is working fine (tried it with another STB and connects flawlessly). I've tried this with XP and Vista on different computers and still no connection being made. I know the STB was working properly before the firmware update was attempted, so any other suggestions to fix this greatly appreciated. If not, I'll sell as a spare/repair on Ebay! :-)
